Spending 45 minutes up close with one species, sometimes in areas closed to the public: that is the idea behind the Exclusive Animal Encounters (Rencontres Privilèges) at ZooParc de Beauval, from €268 for two. Beauval also runs keeper-for-a-day activities. Here is how it all works.

How the encounters work 🤝
An Exclusive Animal Encounter is a personal moment with one species, led by one of the ZooParc's keepers or wildlife educators. Depending on the species and the conditions on the day, it can include:
- Close-up observation
- Access to areas normally closed to the public
- Supervised feeding
- Making an enrichment for the animals
- A chat with the teams
The exact content varies with the species and the animals' wellbeing, which always comes first.

Make a weekend of it
An encounter in the morning, the visit in the afternoon and the next day, with a night nearby.
Keeper for a Day and other keeper activities 🔬
Beyond the encounters, the ZooParc runs "discover the ZooParc from backstage" activities. With the keeper-facilitators, participants help care for the animals: feeding, cleaning enclosures, making enrichments.
- Keeper for a Day: for adults from 16, a morning behind the scenes
- Junior Keeper: a day for children aged 10 to 15
- Keeper for a Day Family: from age 6, as a family
- Trainee Keeper: for children aged 6 to 9
Prices, dates and conditions are on the activities pages of zoobeauval.com. Check the language of the activity when booking: the website does not say whether it is run in English.
