Beauval Zoo: one day or two?

Hippos in their pool at ZooParc de Beauval

One day or two at ZooParc de Beauval? One day is possible, two days is better, especially with children and when you have travelled from the UK. Here is how to choose for your group, what it costs, and our day plans.

One-day or two-day tickets
Online: €39 per adult for one day, €63 for two days.

The short answer ⏱️

ZooParc de Beauval covers 46 hectares and is home to around 800 species. Half a day is not enough.

A full day lets you see the highlights at a brisk pace. Two days let you see everything calmly, including both shows, without exhausted children.

Coming from the UK? After a ferry crossing or a long train journey, two days are almost always the right choice. You make the trip worth it, and the two-day ticket costs less per day.

🗓️ Visiting Beauval in one day

It is possible, as long as you:

  • Arrive at opening time, 9am
  • Pick 5 or 6 must-sees in advance
  • Work through the park area by area, without doubling back
  • Have lunch before 12.30pm or after 2pm, as the ZooParc advises on busy days

What you will probably miss: some of the territories, one of the two shows, and time to really watch the animals. Our suggested itinerary helps you make the most of it.

Two days at Beauval: the full experience

  • Time to watch each animal, and to come back for the ones that were asleep
  • Both shows, Les Maîtres des Airs and L'Odyssée des Lions de Mer
  • Children who are not worn out by mid-afternoon
  • A two-day ticket at €31.50 per day for an adult online

Over two days, a night nearby saves you a drive in the evening and gets you there for opening time the next morning. Les Jardins and Les Pagodes are a 5 and 7-minute walk from the ZooParc; the other Beauval hotels are 5 to 10 minutes away by car.

📋 Plan: one day at Beauval

A logical order from the South entrance, working from the south to the north of the park:

  • 9am: The Heights of China (giant pandas and red pandas)
  • 10am: Les Terres Rouges, the Koala Greenhouse, the Elephant Plains
  • 11.30am: Bucolia, then lunch before 12.30pm
  • 1.30pm: the African Savannah, the Big Cat Woodlands, the great ape greenhouses
  • 3.30pm: the northern part: the Equatorial Dome, the Land of the Lions, the Hippopotamus Reserve
  • During the day: one show, depending on the times displayed at the entrance

The Le Nuage de Beauval cable car links the southern part (Elephants station) to the northern part (Lions station): handy to save time. The territories in detail: ZooParc map.

Plan: two days at Beauval

  • Day 1, the southern part: the Heights of China, Les Terres Rouges, the Koala Greenhouse, the Elephant Plains, Bucolia and Les Roches Vives (April to late September)
  • Day 2, the centre and north: the African Savannah, the great ape greenhouses, the Equatorial Dome, the Land of the Lions, Les Maîtres des Airs and L'Odyssée des Lions de Mer

The morning of day 2 is ideal to see the animals you missed the day before, like the wombats that often hide in their burrows.

What changes with the season

The ZooParc opens at 9am all year round. It closes at around 9pm in summer and around 7.30pm in winter.

The shows run in season: in 2026, the Zen Pass giving priority access to them was valid until 15 November. From 16 November 2026 to 5 February 2027, entry to the ZooParc is via the North entrance only.
