Before you start: which entrance?

The ZooParc has two entrances: the South entrance (main) and the North entrance, near the Equatorial Dome. A path of about 1 km links them inside the park.

  • South entrance: more direct for the African Savannah and the Gorilla Greenhouse
  • North entrance: ideal to start with the Equatorial Dome, but normally it does not open every day

Most important: pick up the map at the entrance (available in English) or download it before you leave. The ZooParc map 2026.

Good to know: Le Nuage de Beauval cable car is included in the ticket. It gives you an overview of the park and saves your legs between two areas.

🗺️ Itinerary for one day at Beauval

9am: the Heights of China

Start with the most popular animals. In the Heights of China, the twins Huanlili and Yuandudu are often eating their bamboo in the morning. Do not miss the red pandas, to spot in the branches, or the snow leopards and golden monkeys.

10.30am: Les Terres Rouges

Head for Les Terres Rouges, the new Australian territory of 2026. You walk along the path among the red kangaroos. The wombats are often in their burrows: allow 30 to 45 minutes and come back later if needed. The koalas are in the Koala Greenhouse.

12pm: lunch break

Eat before 12.30pm or after 2pm to avoid the crowds. Another option: go out for a picnic with a re-entry stamp. How to picnic at Beauval and where to eat in the park.

Afternoon: the big African mammals

They are not all in the same place. Allow at least 1 hour 30 minutes to see:

  • The African Savannah: giraffes, zebras, white rhinos
  • The Elephant Plains: elephants and okapis
  • The Land of the Lions: lions, African wild dogs, meerkats
  • The Hippopotamus Reserve

In season: a show

Les Maîtres des Airs and L'Odyssée des Lions de Mer are included in the ticket, from about late March to mid-November. Times change from day to day (on 7 October 2026: 2.30pm for the sea lions, 3.30pm for Les Maîtres des Airs). Check them on arrival and plan your afternoon around them.

Late afternoon: the greenhouses and the Equatorial Dome

The Gorilla Greenhouse and the Orangutan and Chimpanzee Greenhouse, then the Equatorial Dome: manatees, giant otters, pygmy hippos, Komodo dragons. Some indoor areas close before the park itself (6pm on 7 October 2026).

Before closing: your favourites

The crowds thin out. Go back to Les Terres Rouges for the wombats, or to the Heights of China.

Let's be honest: in one day, you will not see all 24 territories without rushing. Bucolia, Les Roches Vives (in summer) and some of the greenhouses often get left out.

Itinerary for two days

  • Day 1: the Heights of China, Les Terres Rouges, the Koala Greenhouse, lunch, the African Savannah, the Elephant Plains, the Land of the Lions, one show
  • Day 2: the Equatorial Dome, the Gorilla Greenhouse, the Orangutan and Chimpanzee Greenhouse, the Hippopotamus Reserve, Bucolia and Le Canard Toqué, Les Roches Vives in season, the second show, back to your favourites

The morning of day 2 is also the time to see the giant pandas in peace. The two-day dated ticket works out at €31.50 per day for an adult.

Two days without driving back and forth
Les Jardins and Les Pagodes de Beauval are a 5 and 7-minute walk from the ZooParc.

❄️ This winter: start from the North entrance

From 16 November 2026 to 5 February 2027, entry is via the North entrance only. Reverse the route: start with the Equatorial Dome, in the warm, then head to the Heights of China.

Days are short in winter: save the indoor territories for late afternoon. And until 8 March 2027, MonstroZoo places six creatures in six territories: a great way to keep children going. See opening times and winter calendar.

Tips to adapt your route

  • Check the show times as soon as you arrive
  • See the giant pandas and the wombats before 10.30am
  • Use the cable car to take a breather between two areas
  • Avoid the restaurants between 12.30pm and 2pm
  • Keep some energy for the end of the day, when it is quieter
