The territory at a glance 🦘
- Opened: 4 April 2026
- Size: 4,500 m², on the site of the former petting farm
- Investment: €1 million, according to the ZooParc's press kit
- Species: red kangaroos, Parma wallabies, rock wallabies, emus, common wombats
- Location: in the southern part of the park, near Bucolia
Among the red kangaroos 🌿
This is the territory's highlight: an immersive area where you walk among the red kangaroos, staying on the path. They are females, already at the ZooParc before 2026, which moved into this new enclosure.
Stay on the path, do not touch the animals and do not feed them.
The wombats 🐾
Sandy and Mersey are the ZooParc's two common wombats, the only ones in France. It is the only species in Les Terres Rouges shown in France for the first time.
They spend a lot of time in their burrows: all our tips to see them on our page the Beauval wombats.
Wallabies and emus 🐦
- Parma wallabies: listed as "vulnerable" on the IUCN Red List
- Rock wallabies, also called yellow-footed rock wallabies: listed as "near threatened"
- Emus: large running birds from Australia, unable to fly
Waterbirds complete the setting. Every species in the park: the ZooParc animals.
Our view ⭐
The change of scene works: red earth, eucalyptus, you really feel somewhere else. The territory is far more immersive than the old petting farm it replaces.
The highlight remains the kangaroo area, as long as you go through when it is quiet.

- Allow 30 to 45 minutes
- Come early in the morning or late in the day, when it is quieter and the wombats are more likely to come out
- Do the kangaroo area when the path is calm
- Carry on to Bucolia, close by, and the Koala Greenhouse for the koalas
